Establishing a Natural Products Genomics Resource Center

The Natural Products Genomics Resource Center (NPGRC), a collaborative effort among the Joint Genome Institute (JGI), The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), and University of Minnesota (UMN), will be established as a genomic data resource for the broader scientific community to enable natural product (NP) discovery, characterization, and development for a range of associated applications. The NPGRC aims to sequence 10,000 Actinobacteria strains, provide bioinformatics and computational tools for the discovery and analysis of NP biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs), and enable strain priorization for targeted NP discovery.
