Evolution of nutritional modes of Ceratobasidiaceae

This project aims to understand the evolution of gene families and life history traits in fungi. To achieve this aim, we nominate a very common and ecologically important family Ceratobasidiaceae – as a fungal model system for in-depth comparative genomics analyses. This family is comprised of saprotrophic, generalist and specialist plant pathogenic and endo- and ectomycorrhizal species. The genomic data will provide novel information about the evolution of functions in the Ceratobasidiaceae and potentially for the Kingdom Fungi.
