SMARTFARM Metagenome Analysis of Nutrient Cycling

The SMARTFARM CSP builds on the ARPA-E Phase I SMARTFARM project providing a detailed view of the metagenome found in the soil of bioenergy crop production at 15 ground-truth sites, establishing the composition of carbon and nitrogen cycling microbes, as well as identifying the microbial players responsible for soil carbon sequestration and biogenic GHG (CO2, CH4 and N2O) production and destruction.

Proposer: Michael Schuppenhauer, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
Proposal: SMARTFARM Metagenome Analysis of Carbon and Nitrogen Cycling in Commercial Bioenergy Crop Soils
