Erika Lindquist: Reflections of a Berkeley Lab Veteran

Erika Lindquist screencap from Berkeley Lab Veterans Day video

“I learned to respect and appreciate the people I work with… and especially the people I’m responsible for. What’s clear in the military is, you take care of your people and they take care of you.” -Erika Lindquist

In observance of Veterans Day 2015, Erika Lindquist, our Sequencing QA/QC Group Lead who served in Iraq as a member of the California Army National Guard, appeared in a video produced by Berkeley Lab. She spoke about her deployment to Iraq, and most importantly, the lessons she has applied to life after military service.

Watch Erika’s video at http://bit.ly/JGI15Lindquist, and learn about the other Lab veterans featured by Berkeley Lab here. Erika also spoke with veteran students from San Francisco State University regarding the transition from military service to a science career as part of a visit hosted by Berkeley Lab’s Veteran Employee Resource Group (VERG).

The DOE JGI profiled Erika Lindquist in an early issue of the JGI Primer. Read her profile in the newsletter, or on Facebook: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
