Single-cell genomics reveals features of a Colwellia species that was dominant during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill

During the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico a deep-sea hydrocarbon plume developed resulting in a rapid succession of bacteria.
